Dylan Jones on the Bowie I knew New York Times best-selling author Dylan Jones has written twenty books on subjects as diverse as music and politics and fashion and photography. He has been an editor at The Observer, The Sunday Times, i-D, The Face and Arena, a columnist for The Guardian and The Independent, and is currently the Editor-In-Chief of GQ. He has won Magazine Editor of the Year eleven times, and been awarded the prestigious Mark Boxer Award. His most recent book is David Bowie: A Life.
Misha Glenny on McMafia Misha Glenny is an award-winning journalist and historian who has travelled around the world interviewing men and women involved in organised criminal activity. His book McMafia is now in production as a major new BBC 1 drama series. His latest work, Nemesis: One Man and the Battle for Rio, is the gripping story of the man who ran the largest slum in Rio as head of the local drugs cartel. Misha’s work on organised crime follows his distinguished career as a BBC Correspondent in the Balkans and Eastern Europe.
Bee Wilson tells two stories of food Bee Wilson is a food writer and historian who is chair of the Oxford Symposium on Food and Cookery. Her most recent book, First Bite: How We Learn to Eat, was about the psychology of eating and how we can change our diets. In 2016 it won the Food Book of the Year at the Fortnum and Mason Food and Drink Awards.
Owen Sheers on The Men You Will Meet
Owen Sheers is a highly acclaimed novelist, playwright and writer. His books have been translated into 15 languages and his novel, Resistance, was made into a film. The film-poem The Green Hollow which marked the 50th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster was nominated for a BAFTA and a Grierson award.
