Based in North Kensington’s diverse Notting Hill, Portobello Dance School is a popular weekend destination offering children from 3yrs to adults training in Classical BalletTapStreet and Salsa.

The school’s mission is to provide affordable dance for girls and boys from 3yrs to teens to young adults.

GLUE is a social arts programme based at The Tabernacle W11, providing free workshops for young people aged 5-16. Utilizing the arts to encourage young people to #StickTogether,

GLUE aims to inspire and connect emerging creatives.


Infinity Spy Agency after school club

Tuesdays, 4pm - 6pm

Infinity Spy Agency after school club is for 7-11-year-olds who want to be Special Agents and parents who want their kids to develop transferable skills such as problem solving, teamwork, persistence and communication. In each mission, Agents must break into objects and artefacts transported through time, absorb video briefings and work with our super-computer to repair the path of history!


The Actors Crib

Saturdays, 12pm - 3pm

An intensive 3 hours acting workshop designed for working actors

The workshop will focus on: Warm up exercises - Character work - Meisner exercises - Hot seating - Improvisation - Cold reading scenes to performance - Improvising the scenes

A very pragmatic, no nonsense class to build an actor's confidence and make the actor match fit for the industry

Santhosh Dance is for everybody who wants to keep fit and feel happy!

The popular Tuesday morning Latin Choreo dance class will teach you how to Salsa,
Tuesday Dance Workout: A fun and energetic workout dancing to music from the 70s, 80s and 90s.Finally our 1-2-1 Friday Latin Workshop, where you can learn to dance the Salsa and Cha Cha Cha.


Adult Ballet with Alessandra Masoero

There are several classes, each tailored to a specific level of ability. They all have in common:

  • live piano music with very experienced musicians

  • small class sizes (10 people max), so each dancer can be carefully looked after

  • solid ballet foundations based on RAD, Balanchine and Maggie Black techniques.


Oremi Yoga Class

Wednesdays, 2.30pm

Improve your flexibility, strength and health in a relaxing session, suitable for beginners or improvers.


Natural Progression Jazz Band Workshop

Thursdays, 7.30pm - 10.30pm

This weekly session is aimed at developing improvisational, ensemble and performance skills for players of all instruments. All abilities welcome however a competent knowledge of your instrument is required. The repertoire includes jazz, Latin, funk, African and other standards. If using an amplified instrument please bring your own practice amp or combo.

Pilates with Lucy

Fridays, 1-2pm

Sundays, 10-11am / 11-12am

A mixed ability Pilates class with a maximum of six participants. All equipment you need is supplied at the class. With only six participants; everyone will get a personalised experience. This includes adaptations and modifications for most common orthopedic conditions, along with all biomechanical imbalances.

A great way to learn a new skill and be involved in the carnival atmosphere all year round.  Classes are held in Mangrove's dedicated steel pan room at the Tabernacle. These classes are FREE OF CHARGE but places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Positive Spirit Yoga

Mieke has been practicing Yoga since the early Nineties and has trained in many forms of Yoga, including Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Iyengar, Sivananda, Satyananda and Yin Yoga and also studies Qigong. Mieke is based in London’s Notting Hill.

Singing Workshops

Mondays, Kids singing workshop 5 - 6pm / Adult group singing practice 6 - 8pm

Kids singing workshop: These weekly session give kids the chance to explore and control their singing voice, develop their skills and abilities, and at the same time helping to bring out their natural creativity to develop their confidence to perform.

Adult group singing practice: These 2 hour weekly sessions are where adult learners have an opportunity to come together on a regular basis and work on building song repertoire, singing mostly contemporary songs styles.

The Ballet School follows the Royal Academy of Dance system of training. Classes are thirty minutes to two hours depending on the age and level of each child. Enrolment is on an ongoing basis and can be completed at any time during the year.
